Ah! Here we are, poised on the dark lip of the vertiginous precipice that is the Holiday Retail Consumptive Convulsion. Eat! Drink! And most of all...celebrate! And it's not like we need a reason to party...we're out here "on the edge of the continent", as Jack Kerouac said, and it feels good! So let's get right to it. First of all:

Great American Music Hall
San Francisco, CA
(More details on our
shows page.)
Come One, Come All to the Great American Music Hall, in San Francisco, CA, where we'll host "An Evening with The Mermen" in the storied, fabled and all-around gorgeous (while remaining intimate) 1907 music hall. Just us, all night long and we're bringing along, at long last, new T-shirts! Special thanks to our Mysterious Friend who helped us acquire shirts! We think they must have worn theirs out and simply tired of waiting for us to get it together. Thanks also to the gang at Babylon Burning, in SF, CA, who quickly and efficiently got our stuff made. We've got long-sleeved shirts for the cold winter months, we've got shirts especially for the gals (thanks to our Special Gal Consultant!) as well as lots of the Standard Boy Tee. Can new hats, fridge magnets, coffee mugs and bath towels be far behind?
Also: watch this space for a new promo photograph. What the hell, it's been like ten years or more since we saw what we looked like in a big glossy. We even got Lori Eanes (
lorieanes.com--she did that great shot of us waaay back in 1994 when we won that Goldie Award from the SF Bay Guardian) to chase us around on Ocean Beach recently during a particularly rough, windy but well-lit afternoon. We haven't aged at all! Well...ah...maybe just a little, ahem.
And also: recording, mixing, more recording, some tracking, a coupla too many tweaks here and there and our first new studio album in ten years is that much closer. This space continues to track the progress of these sessions...did we hear someone say vinyl?
See you soon and thanks for listening!

REVIEW: "...One of the movie's real treats is its awesome psychedelic soundtrack, composed by San Francisco trio "The Mermen" to discreetly complement the beautiful imagery..."
